Teachers, Kids and Classrooms in the 'Left Behind' Era

One major school system is threatening to close more than a dozen schools, and cut track, football and baseball. In another state, education officials threaten to go around the unions to reward -- or fire -- teachers directly. This, as President Bush's nominee for secretary of the U.S. Department of Education says she'll push to expand the "No Child Left Behind" program to the nation's high schools. NPR's Tony Cox speaks with Reg Weaver, president of the National Education Association, and Krista Kafer, senior education policy analyst with the Heritage Foundation.
