A powerful 8.7 magnitude earthquake hits off the west coast of Indonesia's Sumatra Island, a little more than 100 miles south of the Dec. 26 earthquake that sparked a tsunami and killed more than 174,000 people. The closest island to the Monday quake's epicenter, Nias, is reporting many casualties, but no hard numbers have been confirmed.
