WUSF Public Media is a comprehensive media organization that provides public radio and public service content to audiences on broadcast and digital platforms including websites and social media. WUSF Public Media operates WUSF 89.7, WSMR 89.1 and 103.9. There are 75 employees and the annual budget is $11.5 million. WUSF Public Media is a department of the University of South Florida and provides internships to students. WUSF Public Media’s main studios are on the USF Tampa campus, with a broadcast and music performance studio on the USFSM campus and an office and news production studio on the USFSP campus.

Position Summary:

WUSF Public Media is hiring an Executive Producer for The Zest Podcast. If you have a passion for telling stories that intersect with Food and Florida, have podcast producing experience and skills, and enjoy being part of a team, then this is for you.

This position is part-time, 25 hours per week. You’ll work with another part-time producer, an interviewer and a team of people to help you with the marketing and promotion of the podcast which is starting its third season and on track to reach 1 million impressions by the end of the year. You’ll plan episodes and conduct interviews and plan quarterly virtual or in person events. You’ll have some fundraising responsibilities, too.

You’re a self-starter who is comfortable working remotely and on-site in the WUSF studios on the USF Tampa campus. You’ll report to the Program Director and work with WUSF Public Media staff in various departments.

The Zest Podcast is an initiative of WUSF Public Media in Tampa, Florida.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field and two years of directly related experience; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above. Four years of vocational/technical training and experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.

This position is subject to a Level 1 criminal background check.
