Officials say they walked by dog remains and chains in a remote area in Seffner where they suspect more than a hundred dogs have fought over a 20 year period.
Hillsborough County Animal Services recovered 7 dogs from the fighting ring thanks to an anonymous tip.
Animal Services spokeswoman Marty Ryan estimates that one of the dogs-- Rudolph-- was in a fight in the last 48 hours of their discovery.
"One dog, who we named Rudolph, still had bleeding wounds right there in the room," says Ryan, "Very very sweet and affectionate, tail wagging, gentle, wanted to meet the members of the media but clearly wounded."
Ryan says they're working to petition the court for custody of the animals so they can find the dogs a home.
The two property owners- Vannie and Russell Franklin were arrested. Their trial day is set for April of next year.
