There's 40 days to go until the Tampa Bay Times Forum hosts one of the biggest political events in the world. Today, the Republican National Committee took over the keys to the arena, and final preparations are being made for the convention - and who will get to go to the podium.

Those preparations include a multi-million dollar renovation of the Forum, including upgrades to the acoustics, seating and even the power supply. Once the workers are done, the eyes of the political world will focus on who's at the podium. But will Florida Republicans like Gov. Rick Scott - who's polling numbers rarely go above a 40 percent approval rate - make it to the stage? RNC Chairman Reince Preibus says - maybe...

"He's the home-town governor," Preibus says. "I'm sure there's a welcome - there's a lot of protocol there, too."

Preibus says organizers don't even have a rough draft of the speaking engagements just yet. But he did call Marco Rubio a "star of the party," and says he expects the Florida senator to have a speaking role at the convention.
