TAMPA JAZZ CLUB PRESENTS RETURN ENGAGEMENT OF DAVE STRYKER
Guitarist DAVE STRYKER, with one of the most distinctive sounds in jazz, makes a return visit to the Mainstage Theater at HCC/Ybor City for the next Tampa Jazz Club concert. Stryker’s quintet takes the stage at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, as part of the HCC Visual & Performing Arts Series.
A prolific recording artist, Dave Stryker has more than 30 cd’s as a leader, with a new release coming the week of his Tampa concert. His musical collaborators have included Jack McDuff and Kevin Mahogany, as well as a decade with Stanley Turrentine, and the band he co-leads with saxophonist Steve Slagle. Stryker has also taught for many years, including a prestigious post at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
Some of Florida’s great musicians will be in the band: saxophonist JACK WILKINS; bassist MARK NEUENSCHWANDER; pianist PER DANIELSSON; and drummer WALT HUBBARD. This will be Stryker’s third HCC/Ybor appearance, following amazing shows in 2015 (returning that year for the Clearwater Jazz Holiday) and 2018.
Look forward to another afternoon of world-class jazz when Dave Stryker returns to Tampa on Sunday, January 9!
