Long Lines at Hillsborough Elections Offices

DMV.ORG

If you are planning to register to vote today, you won't be the only one waiting until the last minute. But don't wait any longer.

Hillsborough County's Supervisor of Elections Office has seen long lines all day today. It's the the last day to register for next month's presidential election.

Hillsborough Elections Office spokesman Travis Abercrombie says the excitement around this election seems to be contagious.

"We are really encouraged by the signs. On at a typical day we see 15 to 20 people at the downtown offices and what we are seeing now are droves of 15 to 20 people coming in," Abercrombie says. "It's been an encouraging sign, it's been a positive sign and its really getting us excited for the upcoming election."

Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco and Sarasota's election offices will all stay open until 7 p.m. Pinellas' office will close at 6 p.m. and the Manatee and Hernando County supervisor of elections offices will only be open until 5 p.m. You can still get a registration form on line and mail it in, but it has to be postmarked for today.
