Currently, there’s only one Florida Democrat actively campaigning for governor and she is accusing Republican Gov. Rick Scott of running the state like a dictator.
“The problem with his administration is that he believes he doesn’t have to talk to legislators,” former State Sen. Nan Rich said.
Watch as the south Florida Democrat tells Florida Matters her take on Scott and if she would cut taxes as governor.

Taking on the Dems and Charlie Crist
Rich said she doesn’t expect the state party to back her or any Democrat in the primary saying there’s a tradition of the state party not getting involved in primary races.
However, Florida Democratic leaders did take a stand when they denied Rich a chance to address the annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner. Rich said that decision was a “mistake” and “wrong.”
Watch as Rich tiptoes around the question of former Republican governor and Democrat convert, Charlie Crist, possibly joining the race.
“If Charlie does come in to a Democratic primary, he’ll have his set of credentials and I’ll have mine,” Rich said. “The Democratic voters will make the determination.”
