The classic picture book 'Goodnight Moon' is 75 years old

The simple, poetic bedtime ritual is a regular on “best of” lists. But it took a while before it became a hit with families. Author Margaret Wise Brown died young. She wasn’t particularly fond of kids, but she also wrote “The Runaway Bunny” and “Big Red Barn.”
