Former Ask-Gary Amphitheatre Shall Not Remain Nameless

1800askgary.com

Seems like the name 1-800-Ask-Gary is everywhere: On TV commercials, on the radio, on the sides of buses...

But here's one place that no longer bears the moniker of the "doctor and lawyer referral service": The amphitheater at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Ask-Gary had a three-year naming rights deal with the outdoor concert venue off Interstate 4, according to the Tampa Bay Times. That contract expired Dec. 31.

Sarasota chiropractor Gary Kompothecras paid an estimated $375,000 a year to have his company's name on the amphitheater -- $75,000 of which went to the Florida State Fair Authority, the Times reports.

Until another title sponsor steps up, the venue will carry the name of the entertainment company that books its shows: the "Live Nation Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds."

"I host a food podcast" is a great icebreaker at parties.
