Guest speaker Rick Dakan is the AI coordinator at Ringling College of Art & Design, where he also serves as interim co-director of the new Center for the Creative Economy and Creative Writing faculty. A Sarasota native and proud Pine View alum (1990), Rick worked as a freelance writer, novelist, and game designer from 1995 to 2016 before joining Ringling College. In 2023 he headed the college’s AI task force and went on to oversee the development of its undergraduate certificate in AI and fundamentals of AI for creatives professional certificate course. He also helps organize Ringling College's annual AI and Creative Innovation Symposium, which invites experts, artists, and educators to come together to advocate for artists in the age of AI. $45 for Arts Advocates members, $50 for non-members (includes lunch).
