NPR's John Ydstie reports on the Caterpillar corporation's decision to close a parts manufacturing plant in York Pa. 1100 United Auto Workers will lose their jobs as a result. For years the company has maintained it needs concessions from the union to make the plant competitive again. The UAW decided not to budge on benefits and pay...and now it looks like York, Pa. will lose its Caterpillar plant.
