A Republican member of the House Standards of Official Conduct Committee today recused himself from participating in the ethics case against Speaker Newt Gingrich. Congressman David Hobson of Ohio withdrew to leave the ethics panel with an equal number of Democrats and Republicans deciding the issue, following the recusal of Democratic Congressman Jim McDermott.
