NPR's Peter Kenyon reports that the Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott said today he has met with the minority leader and the chief justice about starting the proceedings on Thursday. But beyond that, no procedure has won the approval of enough Senators. The options include a full trial with witnesses, or daylong statements by each side, followed by a vote on whether to proceed to a full trial.
