Son of Jackie Robinson Breaks Own Barriers

David Robinson is the son of baseball legend Jackie Robinson; but his struggle has been to bring a fair price to coffee growers in Tanzania. Robinson founded the Mshikamano Farmers Group in the East African country.

Robinson's group is a co-op made up of 300 farmers who now make 53 cents for a pound of coffee. That's 21 cents more than they used to make. The coffee they sell is called Sweet Unity Farms gourmet Coffee and is available for sell in select stores throughout the United States and online.

The Mshikamanos are exhibiting at the annual Folklife Festival, put on by the Smithsonian Institution on the National Mall in Washington.
