Cameron Crowe is the director of six feature films, beginning with 1989's Say Anything.

Filmmaker Cameron Crowe discusses the deep musical connection in his movies. Evidence of the care that goes into the director's soundtracks can be seen in Elizabethtown, Crowe's latest release.

Since his first full feature, 1989's Say Anything, Crowe's movies have been marked by the close attention to choosing their soundtracks.

That has proved particularly true with his films that revolve around music: Singles, the 1992 story of 20-somethings in grunge-crazy Seattle, and Almost Famous, the 2000 story of a young writer following a rock band on tour in the 1970s -- as Crowe himself did as a teenager.
