Armed with a new, 85-million-dollar business incentive fund, Florida Governor Rick Scott is headed to Connecticut to burnish his credentials as corporate recruiter in chief.
It appears to be the part of the job Scott enjoys the most -- poaching jobs from the Snow Belt. An official announcement about Scott’s upcoming trip skewers Democratic Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy, calling him out-of-touch with business leaders.
Scott also touted the latest Census figures showing the Nutmeg State lost nearly 15 thousand residents to Florida last year, even though the figure was somewhat offset by 6 thousand Floridians who relocated to Connecticut.
Scott went on a head hunting trip to Connecticut two years ago, but this time he can dangle a new incentive fund he won through some legislative arm-twisting.
