Governor Rick Scott is heading to Puerto Rico Monday.
In a statement, Scott says he’ll travel to the U.S. territory to offer his guidance, advice, and assistance to help in ongoing Hurricane Maria recovery efforts.
In addition to Puerto Rican officials, Scott is also expected to meet with emergency management officials and utility crews from Florida.
Scott’s announcement comes just as the Federal Emergency Management Agency had said they’re pulling relief aid from Puerto Rico at the end of last month.
FEMA officials have since said they made that comment in error, and they have not yet made a decision on the cutoff date.
