A thrilling evening of one-act plays brings wit, whimsy, and a touch of darkness to Clearwater this March

TheatreFor invites audiences to step into the shadows of A Lighter Shade of Noir, an evening of captivating one-act plays that blend classic noir storytelling with comedy, mystery, and a dash of the unexpected. This unique production runs from March 6 - 23, 2025, promising a night of suspense, humor, and unforgettable performances.

Featuring a collection of sharp-witted and thrilling one-acts, A Lighter Shade of Noir offers something for every theatre lover—from femme fatale detectives to fairy tale P.I.s, mistaken identities, and psychological twists.

The Lineup of One-Acts:

Blonde Noir – A fast-talking private investigator faces off against a henchman obsessed with social media and a devious mastermind. (Written by Michael P. Cote)

Grimm Investigations – When fairy tale legends go missing, it's up to two brotherly private eyes to crack the case. (A fairy tale noir adventure!)

The Doctor’s Office – A nervous patient misinterprets a routine medical discussion with hilariously disastrous results. (A slapstick noir farce!)

Violins – A haunting psychological drama where the line between music and madness begins to blur. (A chilling noir mystery!)

"As much as noir is known for its shadowy streets and hard-boiled detectives, it's also full of sharp humor and unexpected twists," said Michael Cote, writer and director of A Lighter Shade of Noir. "This production pays homage to classic noir but adds a fresh, playful, and sometimes darkly comedic spin."
