College of Oriental Medicine enrolling for Summer 2023

Bradenton, FL - Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine (DRCOM), based in Gainesville, FL, announces the opening of its new campus set in the heart of Florida’s Suncoast region. The two-story building (6815 14th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34207) purchased in December 2022, was fully renovated to meet the technological and specialized needs for advanced students, faculty, and staff.

The college worked with a team of local professionals to set up the 16k-square foot facility for the start of the Summer Term 2023. Classes are scheduled to begin May 1st for the 10-semester Graduate Program, earning the student two degrees - a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Masters of Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine. Students will be qualified to take the national certification board exams, and subsequently apply for licensure to become Primary Healthcare Providers in Florida. The DRCOM program is fully accredited by ACAHM (Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine), and the Florida Department of Education-Commission for Independent Education (license #2425) and all Federal financial aid and Veterans Benefits are accepted.

Integral to the onsite learning environment is the Dr. Leon Hammer Acupuncture Clinic. Dr. Hammer developed a unique system of Pulse Diagnosis, a vital tool in his Contemporary Oriental Medicine that is taught and practiced at Dragon Rises College. Fully staffed and supervised by licensed acupuncture physicians, the clinic will offer reasonable rates to the public for acupuncture treatments. Included is a thorough Pulse Examination & Diagnosis that guides intervention. Practitioners use a wide range of all of the major treatment modalities within Chinese Medicine including acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, Tiuna (Tui Na), Gua Sha, therapeutic massage, and lifestyle and nutrition consultation. The clinic maintains its teaching Herbal Pharmacy to dispense a wide variety of medicines, teas, tinctures, salves, and poultices.

About Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine: Originally founded in 2001, DRCOM’s curriculum covers Contemporary Oriental Medicine®, a comprehensive and cohesive model incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Five Element Theory, and many strengths of the diverse traditions of Oriental medicine.
