Ella, a 27-year-old late-bloomer, dreams of becoming a singer. Her zany, overprotective Greek mother, Despina, pressures her to take over the family Gyros shop. During their daily fight, Despina drops dead of a heart attack... only to return as an intervening ghost, haunting Ella with unwanted advice and romantic guidance.

Things get even more complicated when Ella’s childhood love, Nick, resurfaces as a handsome (and somewhat playboy) doctor. In this supernatural comedy, Ella must learn to take control of her life, find the meaning of true love, and finally figure out how to deal with the passing of her mother.
