John Lewis Day of Commemoration & Action - Demand National Standards to Protect our Freedom
July 17, 2024 marks the 4th anniversary of the death of the Late Congressman John Lewis! On that day, we will come together in over 80 events across the country to commemorate his death and more importantly his life work to secure voting rights for all people.
With the ongoing attack on democracy, we're bringing grassroots activists together to call on Congress to pass national voting rights legislation to protect our freedoms. This event is one of over 80 nation-wide and is being hosted by local volunteers in partnership with the Declaration for American Democracy, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Black Voters Matter Fund, League of Women Voters, and Transformative Justice Coalition.
Clergy, elected officials, and community activists are joining with residents for a candlelight vigil and call to action to demand voting rights for all people.
