Moving through Grief and Loss

When: the 4th Saturday of every month 2024

(July 27, Aug 24, Sept 28, Oct 26, Nov 23, Dec 28)

Time: 2 pm to 3:30 pm with overtime as needed

Covering: the 5 basic stages of grief with discussion, dance performances, Find Your Smile again dance lesson for attendees, & relaxation techniques.

Some “props” will be on hand (folk type dance skirts, dance veils, fedoras, handkerchiefs-to find joy and release tension and stress).Do bring items to share such as photos of your loved one.

Who we are: Cheryl McDonald is co-owner of Stardust Ballroom and creator of this workshop. Cheryl is an enthusiastic dance student since 2019, and has recognized the role dance can play in healing. She is Nationally Board Certified as both a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and as an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Cheryl has created many stress management programs in hospitals and is currently writing a book about grief.

Grace Badillo, creator of Dancing with Grace: is the 2018 winner of Best Dance Teachers in Tampa https://www.expertise.com/fl/tampa/dance-classes, 2008 winner of the National Presidential Volunteer Service Award (given by the former President of the United States), October 2018 and 2019 Outstanding Service To The Community Award (given by Governor of Florida), former 2019 Mrs. Tampa Bay, winner of the Viva Tampa Bay Award, Outstanding Philanthropist Award, and Women In Salsa Award. She is the Coordinator/Promoter of Wholesome Dance Events, Diversity Committee Member For Florida State Fair, Emcee of Florida State Fair Dancesport Festival, Chair of The National Dance Day in Tampa, emcee of The Salsa Community Awards, promoter/participant in Dancing With Our Stars, and provided “Christmas In July”dance event for the Veterans of James A Haley Home Tampa for 9 years, a Certified Latin Dance Instructor, Talent Judge, Emcee, Author, Choreographer, and Guardian.
