Learn all about gopher tortoise at the Feb. 12th Sierra Club Adventure Coast Group MeetUp. Join us from 7- 8pm at the South Brooksville Community Center, 601 East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Brooksville.

Guest speaker will be Amanda Hipps, a Florida native and Gopher Tortoise biologist who has monitored recipient sites and assisted private landowners insure quality habitat for relocated tortoises. She has a biology degree from Florida Atlantic University with a thesis on gopher tortoise commensals. Amanda has contributed to land conservation efforts in Florida and with WIldlandscapes International to raise millions to secure habitat in the Everglades and wildlife corridors of Kenya, Africa; and Assam, India.
