St. Pete Reads! Lit Fest Returns to The Woodson Nov 1st
The Cultured Books Literacy Foundation will host the 4th Annual St. Pete Reads! Lit Fest on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woodson African American Museum of Florida. The free, family event will feature nationally recognized and local authors, live music, and interactive arts programming.
Headlining authors include Jerry Craft, Newbery Medal–winning creator of “New Kid” and “J vs. K”; Sharee Miller, author-illustrator of the “Curlfriends” series; and debut authors Kiva & Nia Williams, whose “Did You Know God Made You Beautiful?” is illustrated by Anastasia M. Williams.
Highlights of the festival include a Community Story Hour with Councilman Corey Givens Jr., Jazz Storytime with the Tampa Bay Al Downing Jazz Association, and an all-day drop-in art studio hosted by NOMAD Art Studio. Live music throughout the day from DJ Donnie Luv.
Families can also explore the Vendor Village, where they will meet emerging authors, discover local literacy programs, and sign up for literary arts opportunities designed to extend beyond the day of the event.
The festival is presented with support from the Woodson African American Museum of Florida, St. Petersburg Library System, Florida Humanities Book Festival Grant, City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas Community Foundation, and additional partners committed to literacy in South St. Petersburg.
