We will have a 1 mile walk at Whiskey Joe's Grill 7720 W. Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa, FL on April 29, 2023. The walk is to raise awareness to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) disease and money for research. Every 90 minutes someone’s diagnosed with ALS or passes away from ALS. There are over 5,000 people diagnosed with ALS each year.

Currently scientists don’t know what causes ALS, once someone is diagnosed, it is considered terminal. There is no cure. It is an always fatal neurodegenerative disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles. People with ALS lose their ability to walk, talk, eat and eventually breather. That is why social awareness and fundraising for medical research is so important. Once diagnosed, average life expectancy is 2-5 years.
