“The Landscape” – Paintings by Mark Fulco, Jodi Watkins and Julie Maccarin
“The Landscape” is February’s featured exhibition at GCAA ArtWorks. The exhibition is on view Tuesday, February 4 to Saturday, March 1. It features landscape paintings by three local artists working in different styles: Mark Alan Fulco, Julie Maccarin and Jodi Watkins.
Mark Alan Fulco, a multimedia artist, potter, painter, and photographer, calls his paintings “close-up landscapes”. He says that the viewer is the primary part of the painting, allowing you to figure out the message for yourself.
Julie Maccarin’s watercolors are inspired by a walk in the woods, visit to a museum or the color of the sky. She works in a variety of media, including music. But her watercolor landscapes are a great expression of her talents. She says, “If I didn’t have to sleep, I’d make art all day and night.”
Jodi Watkins’ colorful vibrant acrylics celebrate the natural beauty of our area. Her focus is on tropical fun, reminding you of great vacations, family memories and awesome days spent at the beach.
See the show February 4 through March 1 at GCAA ArtWorks, 5546 First Avenue N, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. Meet the artists at the reception on February 15 from 5 to 8. There will be food, drink and live music by classic rock guitarists Ed and Nick.
