Join The Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association (ADTBJA) for The Sounds of Hope: Honoring the Legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Alvin J. Downing.

This free, outdoor event is on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA), 515 22nd St., S., St. Petersburg, Florida.

The program features live performances of jazz from the Civil Rights Era, narrated reflections on the music's history, and a special segment on the healing properties of music. Honor the national civil rights champion and local jazz icon. Admission is free, open to the public and partially funded by the City of St. Petersburg.

Join us for an afternoon of Jazz featuring the Isaac Mingus Jazz Quintet.
Isaac Mingus is a double bassist, cellist, and electric bassist based in Sarasota, Florida Isaac will head up this ensemble featuring pianist Judi Glover; guitarist Norman Johnson; drummer Mark DeRose; and trumpet Victor Mongillo. We hope you’ll join us in a conversation over timeless tunes and memories from the Great American Songbook and more.
