Join The Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association (ADTBJA) for The Sounds of Hope: Honoring the Legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Alvin J. Downing.
This free, outdoor event is on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA), 515 22nd St., S., St. Petersburg, Florida.
The program features live performances of jazz from the Civil Rights Era, narrated reflections on the music's history, and a special segment on the healing properties of music. Honor the national civil rights champion and local jazz icon. Admission is free, open to the public and partially funded by the City of St. Petersburg.
