Sheriff: Boy, 2 Adults Die In Bradenton Double Homicide-Suicide

Manatee County Sheriff's Office
Sheriff W. Brad Steube

Authorities say a 50-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy were killed by a man who then killed himself in Bradenton.

Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube told local news outlets that on Monday afternoon, a man called 911 after seeing two bodies in the front yard of a Bradenton home. When deputies arrived, they also found the body of the boy.

Investigators say Odalys Martinez-Castiles and the child, Zakyel Hernandez were victims. They didn't release the name of the man.

Steube says they have no motive for the killings. He says deputies responded to a domestic violence incident in 2009. He says there are "obvious signs" of what happened but did not release further details. But he added that neighbors told investigators there had been a lot of arguing at the home.
