Drug War Revisited I
NPR's John Burnett reports on the efforts of anti-drug activist Herman Wrice to help small towns in the United States fight crack cocaine abuse through grassroots organizing and regularly confronting suspected drug dealers. Civil libertarians are concerned that this approach is tantamount to vigilanteism. If these people are known drug dealers, they argue, they should be arrested, not harrassed.

- Daniel visits the Forensic Documents Lab at the U-S Immigration and Naturalization Service. Analysts in the lab use high tech equipment to study questionable immigration documents. They are specialists in detecting counterfeit techniques, including alterations impossible to detect with the naked eye. The Atlanta Committee on the Olympic Games asked the lab to design the Olympic visa which has numerous security features.

Kaing Guek Eav, the former Khmer Rouge interrogator known as Duch, was brought to court in Cambodia for a pretrial hearing. It is the first public session of the U.N.-backed tribunal probing the regime's reign of terror in the 1970s. Duch, 66, is charged with crimes against humanity.
