NPR's David Welna reports as Chicago works to improve its public housing some suburban mayors fear the city's just transferring the problems and people into their struggling neighborhoods. Chicago is tearing down its high-rise public housing and the residents are reconcentrating in predominantly black suburbs. Not so fast, say the suburbs.

Unions say talks have intensified, the company says a deal is within reach, but Verizon telecommunications workers are still on strike and without a contract. NPR's Snigdha Prakash reports the main disputes revolve around work transfers and mandatory overtime. One participating union had threatened to bolt the talks, but backed off, saying that "significant progress" has been made.
Israeli Pullout
NPR's Laurie Neff reports that a decision by Israel's cabinet to transfer a portion of West Bank territory to Palestinian control has further enraged the Palestinian people. They say Israel is not handing over enough territory. The Palestinians already were angry over Israel's decision to expand Jewish neighborhoods in Arab East Jerusalem.
Hebron Pullout
NPR's Eric Weiner reports that Palestinians are celebrating and Jewish settlers are hunkering down as the West Bank city of Hebron is transferred from Israeli to Palestinian control. Israeli troops pulled back from positions in Hebron today on the basis of an Israeli-Palestinian agreement finalized this week after months of bitter negotiations.
Milosevic
Noah Adams talks with Jovana Ilic in Belgrade. Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic was arrested at his house on Friday, according to Serbian media. Ms. Ilic had been at the house before the arrest and provides some details of the arrest. She says Milosevic was reportedly transferred to a justice administration building in central Belgrade.
