Robert talks with David Makovsky, the diplomatic correspondent for the Jerusalem Post, and the author of Making Peace with the PLO. They discuss the progress of the peace process in the Middle East following last month's violence in that region, focusing on the reasons that American negotiator Dennis Ross left the most recent round of talks. They also talk about the role of French President Jacques Chirac in the mediation process, and the likelihood that Syria might be brought back into the peace negotiations.
