- During the hostage crisis the song 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak Tree' by Tony Orlando and Dawn became a huge hit, with the yellow ribbon becoming a symbol for the hostages freedom. This past week, the composer of that song, Irwin Levine, died at the age of 58. And we have this remembrance.
