NPR's Joanne Silberner reports on a reversal by one of the country's leading abortion-rights supporters. Ron Fitzsimmons is apologizing for his strong support of late-term abortions during congressional debate last year. He's the executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, and he says that the procedure is more common than he led people to believe. But abortion rights groups say the procedure is rare, and they're disputing his about-face. President Clinton vetoed a bill last year that would have banned late-term abortions.
