Army Sergeant Johnny Aparicio, currently based at Central Command on Tampa’s MacDill Air Force Base, can rest easy. A fourth and final suspect is under arrest in connection with the May 13th early morning attack on the soldier.
Brandon Miller, 18, surrendered at the Orient Road Jail and will face a judge Wednesday.
The unprovoked beating of Aparicio was captured on a South Tampa homeowner’s video surveillance system. The grainy, black-and-white video went viral and made the national news.
Three of the suspects were arrested within a little more than a week of attack that left Aparicio with a broken nose and missing tooth.
Police characterized Miller, even though he turned himself in, as uncooperative and unremorseful for his alleged role in the attack reports WTSP.com.
“It’s one of those cases that had the whole community involved,” said Tampa Police spokeswoman Andrea Davis. “We weren’t going to rest until we had all four suspects in custody. It’s a very good day.”
Miller’s alleged teenage accomplices are Geroshe Lewis, Lerome Howard, and Jared Richardson. They are all charged with aggravated battery and robbery.
