Memory Café comes to the Tarpon Springs Public Library
Caregivers & Companions Memory Café is a fun and engaging monthly gathering for people living with memory changes and their family caregivers. Attendees will experience a place for building community with light refreshments, games, music, crafts, and movement in a supportive environment. Meet others who know what it’s like to care for someone experiencing memory loss and learn about local resources, including the library’s new Memory Care Collection with items available for checkout.

Tampa, FL — May 2, 2026— The beloved Florida Wiener Dog Derby is celebrating a milestone year with its “Sweet 16” anniversary, bringing high-energy racing, family-friendly entertainment, and community impact to Tampa Riverfest on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa.
This one-of-a-kind event features dozens of spirited dachshunds racing for glory in a series of crowd-favorite heats, all leading up to the highly anticipated championship finale.
Now in its 16th year, the Florida Wiener Dog Derby has grown into one of the region’s most unique and entertaining fundraising events, drawing dog lovers, families, and spectators from across the state. In addition to the thrilling races, attendees can enjoy vendor booths, interactive games like the popular “Best Nose” scent challenge, raffle prizes, and opportunities to meet adoptable rescue dogs.

About the Florida Wiener Dog Derby
The Florida Wiener Dog Derby (FWDD) is an annual large fundraising event dedicated to celebrating dachshunds while supporting local dog rescue organizations. Through racing, community engagement, and sponsorship partnerships, the FWDD has become a signature event known for fun, philanthropy, and unforgettable moments.

Local Artisans will be selling gift-worthy items at the Artsy Indie Markets on Saturdays in November and December. Included are paintings, drawings, jewelry, pottery, yard art, photographs, prints, stickers, magnets, cards, ornaments and more! The markets will be held in the front yard at GCAA ArtWorks gallery at 5546 1st Ave. N.

GULFPORT, FL – "We Walk as One for Peace" is the essence of World Labyrinth Day, emphasizing the collective experience of people from many countries joining their intentions for peace through the universal practice of walking labyrinths. On Saturday, May 2nd, from Noon to 3 PM, Gulfport will join the global community in celebrating World Labyrinth Day. The event invites participants of all ages and backgrounds to experience the transformative power of labyrinth walking. Participants will enjoy a journey of self-reflection, community bonding, and global solidarity as they walk a labyrinth made from natural materials in the shade of Live Oak trees in Clymer Park. The community walk will be followed by dancing and drumming with Hip Expressions dancers as well as other labyrinth-related activities. It is produced by a group of volunteers and sponsored by the City of Gulfport, Gulfport Merchants Chamber, Labyrinth Insights, and other organizations.

The Ceramic Garden, Where Art is Therapy LLC Celebrates its 21st Business Anniversary.

Lutz, FL, April 1, 2026 – The press and public are invited to The Ceramic Garden’s 21st Anniversary. This 23-year old company would like to re-introduce the most enjoyable Art Studio in North Tampa to paint and create Pottery.

This family event will take place at 19213 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Lutz, FL 33548 in Lutz Lake Crossing Plaza (next to Publix), on Saturday, May 2 from 1 to 7 pm. The company features a relaxing art vibe atmosphere and is dedicated to positively transform lives through the creation of functional clay art.

Guests will enjoy a 50% off flat studio fee at $5 per person (free for ages 3 and under) for bisque painting. There will be pottery wheel demonstrations and mini pottery wheel classes starting at 1:30 pm ($35 ea.). Free beading and face painting for children; door prizes, raffles with tickets available for sale, hand-writing & palm reading for adult customers, refreshments and snacks.

The Imagination of Art Venti invites you to enjoy Art Venti's “pencil paintings” – magnificent, extremely detailed works created with layers and layers of delicate colored pencil strokes on very large paper. His compositions often address environmental and socio/political issues. The larger pieces take 3-5 months to complete. Since moving to Sarasota, he has produced his largest and most complex and meticulous works, the sizes having increased up to 110 inches in width. This exhibit is sponsored by Observer Media Group.
