Police: Security Guard Fired Gun At 2 In Tampa Garage

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office
Everoy Farqharson

A security guard is being held on multiple charges after allegedly firing his gun at two people during a confrontation in a Tampa parking garage.

Tampa Police spokesman Stephen Hegarty said in an email that 31-year-old Everoy Farqharson was working for a private security firm when he confronted two victims early Sunday about urinating in the city parking garage.

Hegarty says Farqharson pushed one victim and knocked a phone from the other's hand before firing his gun at them, then entered their car and removed shell casings from the scene.

Farqharson was held Monday at the Hillsborough County jail on two counts of aggravated assault, along with charges of armed burglary, battery, theft and tampering with evidence.

Jail records didn't show whether Farqharson had an attorney.

No injuries were reported.
