The Florida delegation to the Republican National Convention will be staying... in Palm Harbor.
That's 30 miles from the site of the convention, The Tampa Bay Times Forum in downtown Tampa.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that there is no other delegation located farther from downtown than Florida -- and their bunkmates at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor -- the South Carolina delegation.
It's worth noting that the Florida GOP is in trouble with the RNC for bumping up its primary to January and South Carolina went for Newt Gingrich it is primary.
By comparison, the delegation from presumptive nominee Mitt Romney's home state of Massachusetts will be staying at the Tampa Marriott Waterside... a short walk from the Forum.
One perk for the Florida delegation -- Innisbrook has four top-rated golf courses.
