Ryan, Obama Cancel Florida Appearances

The fallout from Hurricane Sandy is affecting the political world. This morning, President Obama canceled an appearance in Orlando because it would be too dangerous to fly back to Washington, D.C. because of high winds. Former President Bill Clinton and Florida Sen. Bill Nelson appeared in his place at the University of Central Florida.

And now, Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan has canceled tonight's appearance in Lakeland. Ryan was scheduled to attend a rally at 8 p.m. at the Sun 'n' Fun Air Museum, at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.

Fear not, political junkies. Vice President Joe Biden will be in Sarasota Wednesday morning. The doors to the public open at 9 a.m. at Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail. He's then off to Ocala in the afternoon, for an outdoor event at The Discovery Center at Tuscawilla Park.

I cover Florida’s unending series of issues with the environment and politics in the Tampa Bay area.
