A final vote from the Florida Board of Governors is expected Nov. 6. Work on the 27-acre first phase could start this spring and be completed in 2028.

The project could bring additional housing for students, faculty, and staff - plus, a hotel, an academic research building, stores, restaurants, and green space for recreation.

The Claw at USF Golf Course is closing in early September. Some people worry that possible development there will hurt the forest preserve next door.
