Stamps: 34 cents

NPR's Jack Speer reports on the latest one-cent stamp hike by the U-S Postal Service. Starting in January, first-class stamps will cost 34 cents. That extra penny will mean a billion dollars a year in revenue for the Postal Service, which is just emerging from years of debt. Many consumers, still complaining about the last stamp hike in 1999, are using email and electronic bill paying services.
