Compassionate Care Hospice in Lakeland can restart operations soon, as Gov. Rick Scott has signed a bill into law, reports the Ledger of Lakeland.
The agency that provides hospice care in homes and assisted living facilities lost 250 patients and 150 employees earlier this month after the Agency for Health Care Administration said it had to shut its doors because it didn’t renew its license, according to the Ledger.
The company will still have to reapply for Medicaid and Medicare licenses, the Ledger reports. It serves patients in Polk, Highlands and Hardee counties.
