East - West Music & Dance Festival

The 2nd Annual East-West Music & Dance Festival will feature over 100 performers of both eastern and western styles, from the Tampa Bay community and beyond for a one-of-a-kind event that stretches hands across geographic and cultural lines in order to fellowship together in the spirit of unity and in the universal language of song and dance. The event will feature local food vendors, jewelry, clothing, and other service vendors with the family activities in the public area. The festival will feature both large and small group performances. Over 100 dancers from around the world, including different forms such as Indian folk, Bollywood, African dance forms, Flamenco dance forms and more. Local and national touring acts like Wahh World Fusion Band (East-West fusion), Trevor Bystrom Band (Multicultural music) Songbird Shella and Katara lead by Rochelle Siddiq (R&B and experimental), Dr Payal Patel (Bollywood fitness dance), Rashaun Stewert (Drum Circle), Rudram dance company lead by Tara Vikkasani (Folk dance), Irene Rimer and group (Flamenco dance), Jeff Lluis (MC and standup comedy), Kshipra Dave and group (Bollywood dance), Shruti School of Music (Music ensemble) are participating in this celebration of global music and dance! The East-West Music & Dance Festival is supported by a CAIG Events Partnership Grant from the Cultural Arts Commission, part of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County. Spend your Sunday soaking up the sights and sounds from all corners of the globe at the City of Tampa’s Water Works Park, a riverfront park with a large bandshell for performances, wide-open green space, covered and shaded picnic areas, a playground and splash pad, even a dog park. The park is adjacent to the City of Tampa’s Riverwalk, a 2.6-mile pedestrian trail along the Hillsborough River Many vendors are available for ethnic food, jewelry, clothing, massages and arts. Tampa’s Shruti Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to promoting Indian and World Culture in the Tampa Bay community.
