MAACM Charley Harper Owl Glass Class
Tuesday, May 5 and 12, 2026; 10am-1pm
Whether you love birds, the night, or Halloween, this adorable owl panel, inspired by the geometric wildlife art of Charley Harper is a perfect introduction to the craft of leaded glass. Registration for this class includes two 3-hr glass sessions, 5/5 and 5/12. Closed-toed shoes are required to participate in class. Class fee: Non-members: $125, Members $110.

MAACM Florida Dolphin Glass Class
Friday, May 8 and 15, 2026; 10 am – 1 pm
Floridians and animal lovers alike will appreciate this leaping dolphin leaded glass panel. Registration for this class includes two 3-hr glass sessions. Closed-toed shoes are required to participate in class. Class fee: Non-members: $125, Members $110.

Join us for an artistic journey geared toward young artventurers every Saturday! Led by our friendly associates, children ages 4-11 will be guided through our world-class glass art galleries. They will then have the opportunity to unleash their imagination and express themselves with a fun and engaging craft activity.

Local Artisans will be selling gift-worthy items at the Artsy Indie Markets on Saturdays in November and December. Included are paintings, drawings, jewelry, pottery, yard art, photographs, prints, stickers, magnets, cards, ornaments and more! The markets will be held in the front yard at GCAA ArtWorks gallery at 5546 1st Ave. N.

While you’re there, come inside for the “Gift of Art” show and sale. That’s the members holiday exhibition of small handmade gifts and ornaments.

And there will be a table of gently used art supplies, craft items, books and vintage jewelry for sale.

Sheryl’s BreastFest – 11th Annual Music Festival and Cancer Benefit is a free, family-friendly community event in Lakeland, Florida, bringing people together through live music, compassion, and giving back. Join us on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Lakeland Elks Lodge #1291 for a full day of live music on two stages, food trucks, vendors, kids activities, silent auctions, raffles, games of chance, and more. This 100% volunteer-run nonprofit event supports local individuals and families facing the financial hardship of cancer treatment through direct financial assistance for essentials such as housing, utilities, food, and transportation.

The Imagination of Art Venti invites you to enjoy Art Venti's “pencil paintings” – magnificent, extremely detailed works created with layers and layers of delicate colored pencil strokes on very large paper. His compositions often address environmental and socio/political issues. The larger pieces take 3-5 months to complete. Since moving to Sarasota, he has produced his largest and most complex and meticulous works, the sizes having increased up to 110 inches in width. This exhibit is sponsored by Observer Media Group.
