With an 0-3 start and a rookie quarterback set to make his first start this weekend, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans could use any bit of good news. It looks like they may get it.
Team officials say the remaining seven home games will be seen on local television.
According to a story posted on the Bucs' official website, ticket sales are projected to surpass the NFL's requirement of 85 percent of non-premium seats sold for all home games, including this Sunday's against Arizona.
“In appreciation for the loyal support of our fans throughout the Tampa Bay area, we have committed to televise the remaining seven home games of the 2013 season,” said Buccaneers Co-Chairman Bryan Glazer.
Poor fan turnout at Raymond James Stadium over the last three seasons has led 19 of 24 home games to be blacked out locally, including 6 of 8 games last year.
Yesterday, the Bucs announced that rookie Mike Glennon will take over at starting quarterback, replacing the struggling Josh Freeman.
