The Occupy Tampa movement began a year ago when hundreds gathered at Lykes Gaslight Park in downtown Tampa to protest in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street.
About twenty protesters showed up to the same spot to commemorate the one-year anniversary of that first rally on Monday.
They clashed with police, marched through downtown, waved signs at traffic, celebrated the occasion with a cake, and held a general assembly in the Kiley Gardens amphitheater. They spoke about their experiences in the movement so far, and its future.
See how Occupy Tampa celebrated its birthday below.
