UCF Student Survives Attack by Stalker Ex-Boyfriend

Orlando Sentinel

A 21-year-old University of Central Florida student is recovering from a violent attack at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, who ran her over with his car in an on-campus parking garage and then beat her until a bystander intervened, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Kaylyn Martin, who is in a wheelchair until her injuries heal, says the harassment got so bad when she tried to end the relationship that she moved out of her dorm room and changed her phone number several times.

But police say that didn’t stop Paul Gomez, 20, from tracking her down. He’s been charged with attempted murder, and is in jail without bond.
