At-Home Coronavirus Tests
The federal government is sending Americans free at-home tests. You can order up to four per residence at COVIDtests.gov or call 1-800-232-0233.
Vaccines for Children
In early November, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the pediatric version of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children 5 to 11 years old. Vaccine clinics and pediatricians' offices around the country have already received shipments of the smaller vaccine and started putting shots in arms.
Aside from your pediatrician, select Publix, Winn-Dixie, CVS, Walgreens and private pharmacies are also offering the children's version of the vaccine, and you can find them by ZIP code here.
Pinellas County is offering Pfizer vaccines for children 5 to 11 years old at Department of Health locations across the county:
- St. Petersburg Health Department: 205 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N.
- Pinellas Park Health Department: 6350 76th Ave. N.
- Clearwater Health Department: 310 N. Myrtle Ave.
- Mid-County Health Department, 8751 Ulmerton Rd.
Parents or guardians must accompany the children. Walk-ins are welcome, or appointments can be made at 727-824-6931.
Hillsborough County is also offering children's vaccines:
- Progress Village Park, 87-1 Progress Blvd., Tampa. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and no appointment is necessary for the first dose. To make an appointment, call 844-770-8548.
Booster Shots
Per the CDC, COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are available for the following Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine recipients who completed their initial series at least 6 months ago:

* University of South Florida: Faculty and staff can make an appointment by writing to covidvaccine@usf.edu. The Morsani Clinic (13330 USF Laurel Drive) also accepts walk-ins Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m-4 p.m. Established USF Health patients can make a vaccine appointment through MyChart. Additionally, Student Health Services on all three campuses will also be offering the vaccine booster to those eligible by filling out an intake form or calling 813-974-2331.

Statewide
* Homebound seniors can have the vaccines delivered to their homes by emailing HomeboundVaccine@em.myflorida.com and putting in their request.
* The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is partnering with Publix, Walmart and Southeastern Grocers to distribute the coronavirus vaccine in Florida. Southeastern Grocers owns Winn-Dixie, Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and BI-LO. Sam's Club, owned by Walmart, will also have the vaccine.

Monoclonal Antibody Treatments
On Jan. 24, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced it is closing monoclonal antibody treatment sites across the country until further notice after revoking national emergency authorization for COVID-19 antibody drugs produced by Regeneron and Eli Lilly. It says these drugs do not work against the omicron variant. Anyone who has already made an appointment for treatment will be contacted regarding cancellations. The FDA says it can re-authorize their use once they prove effective against future variants.

* The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County is also offering free at-home monoclonal antibody treatments of Sotrovimab, which effectively treats the omicron variant. The treatment is available by a physician referral and is authorized for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms in adults and children 12 years or older. Medicare patients should contact Prosper Infusion at info@prosperinfusion.com; all others should contact DeliveRxd at (813) 932-6266 or Pharmacy@DeliveRxdFL.com.
* DeliveRxd Pharmacy is also administering antibody treatments at homes in Citrus, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, and Sumter counties. Recipients do not have to be homebound or bedridden. Those who are eligiblecan call 813-932-6266 to schedule an appointment.
Hillsborough
The county is closing its only COVID-19 testing and vaccination site at 5 p.m. on March 15 due to a decrease in demand. The West Tampa Community Resource Center, 2103 N. Rome Ave. in Tampa, will offer free COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, Pfizer pediatric vaccinations and booster shots until it closes.

* As of Feb. 28, face masks are no longer required for staff and visitors at Hillsborough County indoor facilities.
* Anyone who would like to receive a vaccine from home can do through DeliveRxDPharmacy. It will vaccinate individuals who live in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties at no cost. Those interested can call 813-932-6266.

Pinellas
* A drive-thru COVID-19 testing site is open at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The city has partnered with Impact Health and the Tampa Bay Rays to open the site on Jan. 13. It will offer both PCR and rapid antigen tests free of charge every day from 8 a-m to 5 p-m. No appointment is necessary, but those interested are encouraged to register ahead of time due to the demand for tests.
The Pinellas County Department of Health also offers tests at 7150 114th Ave. in Largo. Hours are daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and no appointments are required. For more information, call (850) 583-2419.

* The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County is sending outreach teams to community locations several times a week, and offering $10 vouchers for anyone who would like to receive a vaccine. They are open to the public with no appointments required.
* Anyone who would like to receive a vaccine from home can do through DeliveRxDPharmacy. It will vaccinate individuals who live in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties at no cost. Those interested can call 813-932-6266.

Polk
* Due to a decrease in demand for COVID-19 testing, Polk County's no-cost testing site will be relocated effective Feb. 14. It is moving from Ariana Clubhouse, 321 Ramsgate Rd. in Auburndale tp the Auburndale Testing and Vaccination Center, 245 E Lake Ave., Auburndale. Hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Sarasota
* The county has three walk-up testing sites:
- Robert L. Taylor Community College Complex, 1845 34th Street, Sarasota
- Dallas White Park, 5900 Greenwood Ave., North Port
- 5400 Bradenton Road, Sarasota
No appointment is necessary and anyone can be tested regardless of symptoms. Photo identification will be required. PCR and antigen (rapid) testing will be offered, with PCR results provided in 24 hours and rapid testing results in 30 minutes.

Manatee
Manatee County has two free walk-up testing sites. No appointment is necessary and a government-issued photo ID is required. Hours are daily from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Pasco
* The Florida Department of Health in Pasco County partnered with Nomi Health to provide free drive-thru COVID-19 testing at Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey. The site will be open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Appointments can be made here.

Hernando
Hernando County currently does not have any county-run testing sites. Sites that offer testing can be found here.

Veterans
* The James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital is offering coronavirus vaccination efforts.
All veterans who are patients atJames A. Haley Veterans' Hospital & Clinic, regardless of age or medical condition, are eligible. Homeless veterans, as well as vets living in VA congregate living areas and patients receiving chemotherapy, hemodialysis or organ transplants are also able to get vaccines at this time.
Staff will contact them directly to schedule an appointment. Veterans are encouraged to let their Primary Care Provider know so that they can make a note in the patient’s chart and follow up when vaccine is available to them.
Vaccinations are being provided at the main hospital, its Primary Care Annex in Tampa and outpatient clinics in South Hillsborough and New Port Richey.
* Also, community members with connections to the veteran community may qualify for COVID-19 vaccines being made available by the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital & Clinics and the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County.
The VA will begin providing 2,500 doses per week to community members who meet State of Florida guidelines, and who are:
- A Veteran NOT currently enrolled (not currently a patient receiving care in the VA), or
- A family member of ANY Veteran - patient of VA or not
- A family member of a VA employee
