All-Star Game

The Tampa Bay slugger says he expects to play when the regular season resumes this week after X-rays are negative. Four of Caminero's teammates also participated for the AL, which beat the NL 4-0.

Joining third baseman Junior Caminero are Tampa Bay pitchers Drew Rasmussen and Bryan Baker, and designated hitter Yandy Diaz. More could be added if others opt out. The game is on July 14 in Philadelphia.

Caminero was picked this week as a All-Star replacement for the injured Alex Bregman, then learned he will start after Cleveland's Jose Ramírez opted out because of an ailing Achilles tendon.

Lowe and Aranda learned Sunday that they won the player vote at their positions and are slated to participate in the July 15 showcase at Atlanta's Truist Park. Caminero was added Tuesday as a replacement.

It had been scheduled for July 14, hosted by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The next All-Star Game is set for summer 2021 in Atlanta.
