Health Insurance Fraud

Investigators from the GAO were able to register nearly 20 fake ACA enrollments in a probe of healthcare.gov. The federal government paid subsidies to insurers for some of the fake customers.

Agents are providing fraudulent information on applications for health plans. Those who are signed up are disqualified from other forms of free and low-cost care and risk disruptions in treatments.
